Extra Mile supports Police Superintendents’ Association
From April 2019, Suffolk-based Extra Mile PR is providing the media and communications support for the Police Superintendents’ Association (PSA).
The PSA represents almost 1300 Superintendents and Chief Superintendents in 47 police forces – the 43 Home Office forces, British Transport Police, Civil Nuclear Constabulary, Isle of Man Constabulary, and the Bermuda Police Service.
It works to support and represent members’ welfare and interests, while being an influential voice in policing for the public good.
Lucy spent years working in corporate communications for Suffolk Constabulary, leading the department until she left to establish Extra Mile PR in 2016, and since then has supported the Constabulary and other forces with bespoke projects.
Now, using Lucy’s experience in policing, Extra Mile will support the PSA in what is a challenging and exciting time for policing. Forces are working with less money and less staff, but are facing much higher and more complex demand than ever before. It’s crucial therefore that the PSA communicates the experiences of its members at a national level, ensuring that these senior operational leaders play an influential part in the future of policing.
Work for the PSA will include media liaison, blog writing, social media handling, strategic communications and comprehensive communications around the PSA’s annual conference, which attracts national and international media coverage.
